The World Steel Association's Economic Committee visited Erdemir following a working meeting held in Turkey.

Foreks - On March 20, 2025, Erdemir hosted members of the Economic Committee of the World Steel Association, which it is a part of, following a working meeting held in Turkey. The Economic Committee (ECON) welcomed representatives from JFE Steel, Nippon Steel, China Baowu Steel Group, Metinvest, Worldsteel, and the Turkish Steel Producers Association in Ereğli.

The Economic Committee, representing steel producers, industry associations, and research institutes worldwide, works on forecasts regarding capacity, production, demand, and consumption in the global steel market to facilitate planning and decision-making processes for its members. ECON aims to provide quick and reliable insights on trends in the steel market and key strategic issues impacting the future of the steel sector. The working meeting took place in Istanbul from March 17-19, 2025, coordinated by the World Steel Association and the Turkish Steel Producers Association. Following the meeting, ECON members participated in a site visit to learn about Erdemir's facilities and ongoing projects.
